UPDATED 1825 EST July 31/08
Until recently, CANACE existed as an informal group of activists working together for a common goal. As our credibility grew, however, potential donors and supporters made it clear they wanted to see CANACE become formalized and more accountable.
With the help of donors from inside and outside Caledonia, we have now registered a federal corporation as we continue to move forward with the struggle to preserve the rule of law in Ontario and promote reconciliation between native and non-native peoples based on truth, justice and respect for the rights of all citizens regardless of race or grievance.
The old ‘Canadian Advocates for Charter Equality’ website was operated by Mark Vandermaas (who also owns the domain – CANACE.ca) without oversight of the group. It was hosted on the WordPress.com system at the URL ucare.wordpress.com.
New CANACE corporation, new CANACE website
Effective 1930 EST July 30/08 a new website was launched at this URL on the WordPress system (joincanace.wordpress.com.) This URL is visible when you hover your mouse over the title/permalink of a post or page. (You can capture the permalink via: right-click>copy.) The CANACE.ca domain has been re-directed here to what is now the official website of 7008309 Canada Inc. ‘doing business as’ ‘CANACE.’
In the coming weeks, hosting of the CANACE website will be moved from WordPress to a private hosting company, and ownership of the CANACE.ca domain will be transferred to CANACE.
Some pages will be updated and may be temporarily unavailable as this is done.
The old site at ucare.wordpress.com will remain online in order to preserve links to existing stories, but will not be updated. All existing stories and pages have been transferred to this site at www.CANACE.ca.
